If you are running System 7 or later, there is a folder called ﾒStartup Itemsﾓ inside of your ﾒSystem Folderﾓ. Anything in there gets launched every time your Macintosh starts up. Havenﾕt you ever wished you could have something launch the FIRST time you turn on your Mac each day, but not EVERY time? Enter OncePerDay. Put OncePerDay (or an alias to it) inside of your ﾒStartup Itemsﾓ folder. Next, create a folder inside of your ﾒPreferencesﾓ folder called ﾒOncePerDayﾓ. (Sorry, at this time the name or location of the folder can not be changed.) Now, place aliases inside of the ﾒOncePerDayﾓ folder. Those aliases will be opened the FIRST time you boot your Macintosh each day, but not EVERY time you restart.
Limitations
･ The name and location of the ﾒOncePerDayﾓ folder can not be changed. It must be called ﾒOncePerDayﾓ, and it must be inside of the ﾒPreferencesﾓ folder.
･ The resource that tells the ﾒOncePerDayﾓ application the last time it was launched is stored inside of the application itself - not in a preferences file. If you pass this on to friends, it is recommended you pass along a ﾒcleanﾓ version. (If you know how to use ResEdit, you can remove the ﾔLsTDﾕ resource.)
